项目摘要

本年度は,おもにフローベールの受容の問題についての考察を通して,十九世紀フランスにおける文学と政治の関係にアプローチした。特に『ボヴァリー夫人』と『感情教育』に関する同時代の批評を渉猟することにより,当時本1格的に誕生しつつあった近代民主主義という文脈の中でフローベールの作品がいかに解釈されたかを解明しようとつとめた。最終的に明らかになったのは,デモクラシーが強いる平等化の論理に抗いつつ,その論理の中で文学創造を行う作家の特異な姿である。その成果をとりあえずまとめたのが,名古屋大学で開かれた国際研究集会でのフランス語での発表であり,これは2008年4月に日本語版の報告書が刊行されることになっている。フローベールの「読書ノート」の電子エディション化に関しては,リヨン国立科学研究所のステファニー・ドール=クルレ氏と協力しながら,2011年の完成に向けて着実に作業を進めている。現在までの成果をまとめるべく,2008年12月にはリヨンで日仏伊米の研究者が集まって国際シンポジウムを開くことが決定している。とりあえず本年度は,転写した膨大な読書ノートの中から,キリスト教の神父が書いた医学書に関してフローべールが取ったノートを取り上げ,それについて注釈を施した論文を大学の紀要に掲載した。上記に記した以外にも,国内・国外ともに積極的に研究成果を発表すべく心掛けた。右文書院から刊行された論文集に,中村光夫とフローベールに関する小論を発表し,文学の政治性について原理的な考察を行った。さらに,『ボヴァリー夫人』150周年を記念してルーアン大学主催により11月に開かれた国際シンポジウムに参加し,フローベールにおける知と美学の関わりをテーマとする発表を行った。ちなみに,このシンポジウムは2008年度中にフランスで出版される予定である。
