项目摘要

本研究初年度の平成19年度は、EIAL用の教材再編や適切な英語教育手法開発に総力を結集し、フィンランドにおける実地調査から得た知見等も盛り込み浜松市立高校インターナショナルクラスに場を借り、新たな授業展開を模索したが期待した成果を得るには至らなかった。そこで、最終年度となる本年度は、再度クラスルームディスコースの徹底分析や「埋め込み図形テスト(embedded figures test)」による生徒の認知スタイル測定を行ったところ、外国籍生徒は日本人生徒比べフィールド依存性が高く、日本人生徒を対象としたユニ・ラテラルな授業展開との間に齟齬を生じていたことが判明した。この問題を解決すべく、GDM(Graded Direct Method)による教師主導型学習と生徒の主体的参加を促す「英語疑問解消FORUM」とを組み合わせた授業展開を提案するに至った。この結果、生徒の言語使用が増加し、一定の成果を挙げるに至った。しかし、更なる課題として、他国籍環境ゆえにpeer pressureから発言を躊躇するケースが散見されたり、特定の国籍生徒に発言が偏る傾向が見られ、結果的には、授業内容未消化の一原因となった。そこで山下・前野は、LMS(Learning Management System:学習管理システム)のSNS機能を用いたウェブ学習コミュニティの形成を中京女子大学において試行しその経過分析を行った結果、多国籍生徒からなる学習集団にとってデジタルコミュニティ形成が有効に作用することが解明された。また、山下・淺間は12月にシンガポール国立大学で開催されたCLaSIC(Centre for Language Studies International Conference)2008へ参加し、ウェブ学習と教室における対面授業とを有機的に連携させたBlended Learningの可能性を探った。

In the first year of this study, EIAL textbooks were recompiled, and English teaching methods were developed. The results of the survey were summarized, and the results of the survey were expected. In December 2008, the Center for Language Studies International Conference (CLSIC) was held at the National University of Hong Kong.
