It is an important issue to investigate effects of superposition of three dimensional ground motion to response characteristics of building structures during an earthquake. In this research program, Substructure On-line Tests were carried out using column specimens to investigate the effects of bi-directional excitation, i.e.horizotal and vertical excitation, to the response characteristics. A twelve-storied model building was designed based on the ultimate strength concept for the On-line Tests and the specimen for these tests was a column at the first story. Elasto-plastic dynamic response analysis program was developed using fiber model concept to estimate characteristics of members of the building structure. In the Substructure On-line Tests, the program was used for the members except the column specimen at the first story. And actuator system was used to control loading to the column specimen. It is possible to control shear and axial deformation and rotational deformation at the ends of the column using this system. An EWS computer system was used for response analyzes and a personal computer was used for control of actuators and measuring equipment. The parameter of these tests is the vertical excitation level. Results of this test series are as follows ;The effect of vertical excitation level to response charcteristics of the building structure is not so serious, but the inflection point of the column shifted in the test with veritcal excitation and the damage level of the column was dependent upon the shift. It is necessary to investigate the effects of superposition of tri-dimensional excitation to response characteristics of building structures.
研究三维地震动叠加对建筑结构地震反应特性的影响是一个重要的课题。本研究利用柱试件进行子结构在线试验,以探讨双向激振(即纵向激振和竖向激振)对结构响应特性的影响。根据极限承载力概念设计了一座12层的模型建筑,进行了一层柱试件的在线试验。利用纤维模型的概念,编制了弹塑性动力反应分析程序,以估计建筑结构构件的特性。在下部结构在线试验中,除第一层柱试件外,其余构件均采用该程序进行试验。采用驱动系统控制加载。使用该系统可以控制柱端部的剪切和轴向变形以及旋转变形。EWS计算机系统用于响应分析,个人计算机用于控制致动器和测量设备。这些测试的参数是垂直激励水平。试验结果表明:竖向激励水平对建筑结构的响应特性影响不大,但竖向激励试验中柱的拐点发生了位移,柱的损伤程度与此位移有关。研究三维激励叠加对建筑结构响应特性的影响是十分必要的。
