本研究は、漁〓伝承の系譜を明らかにするために、黒潮の流れ(日本海流・対馬海流)との関係を考慮し、また、伝統的な漁〓用具のうち、アワビ漁をはじめとする採貝、採藻、捕魚具等の基本的な漁具を主軸として、下記の地域における調査、研究を実施した。(A)島根県浜田市、益田市沿岸をはじめとする山口県長門市の調査。(B)島根県島根町を中心とした、島根半島沿岸一帯の調査。(C)北九州市門司区及び、山口県下関市沿岸一帯の調査。また、あわせて、上述調査地域において、伝統的な魚〓用具とかかわりの深い小型木造漁船の形態、製作技術、造船儀礼などについても調査をおこない、系統的な資料調査を実施することができた。さらに、今回の調査においては、古文献はもとより、近世古文書史料の調査もあわせて実施することができたため、研究を推進する上で、実証的な展開とすることができた。

In the past, the investigation of ancient literature has been carried out, and the investigation of modern ancient literature has been carried out.
