1.バナッハ空間において、有界線形作用素の線形和による近似精度を連続率を用いて評価し、合成積巾作用素、マルチプライヤー作用素およびオリシッツ空間上のチエザロ-マルチンキビッツ型作用素へ応用される。2.バナッハ空間において、ある付帯条件をもつ有界射影作用素列から誘導されるフーリエ級数およびマルチプライヤー作用素からなる作用素群、合成積作用素論の観点から最良近似度に関するジャックソン型の順問題を考察し、音次バナッハ空間の場合へ応用される。3.超有限次行列環上で規格化したトレースによってII、型の因子環を構成し、これが可分なヒルベルト空間上では決して忠実に表現されないこと、および、In型因子の極限しても表されないことが示される。4.n×n行列環上の正値線形写像の分解可能性に関して、n=2の場合は分解可能である、すなわち、完全正値写像と亜完全正値写像との和に書けること、および、n≧3では分解不可能なものが存在することが知られている。そこで、n≧3の場合の構造解明に期待される原子性をもつ分解不可能な正値写像が各n(n≧4)ごとに存在することが示される。5.正規空間の位相次元はそれ上の連続関数環で特徴づけられることが知られている。ところで、可換な単位元をもつC^*_-環は、あるコンパクトなハウスドルフ空間上の連続関数空間と同一視できるが、この次元の概念を非可換なC^*_-環に拡張したものが実階数といわれる、ブラウレ-ピダーセンによって導入されたこの概念に対する彼らの予想が、一般には成立しないことを反例を挙げ指摘している。6.C^*_-環の拡大の基本的性質について調べ、その応用として連結なコンパクト群によるC^*_-接合積の実階数の正確な評価を与えている。
