本年度は越前松平家の上、中、下の各江戸屋敷の沿革、概要を解明した。上屋敷は麹町屋敷→滝ノ口屋敷→浜町屋敷→常盤橋屋敷と変遷を重ねる。このうち滝ノ口屋敷は江戸城大手門を出た東正面に拝領していた屋敷で、毛利家文書(岡山大学所蔵)中の指図や『江戸図屏風』(林家所蔵)からその豪華さ、華麗さを推察できる。豊かな彫刻装飾が施された御成門や台所門を構え、四隅には矢倉もたっていて、家康の次男結城秀康を藩祖とする御家門の家柄に相応しい屋敷構えをうかがうことができた。しかし、この屋敷は明暦3年の大火で焼失し、代わって浜町屋敷を拝領、その後、浅草屋敷代用時代を経て、正徳3年以降は幕末まで常盤橋屋敷を上屋敷としていた。この常盤橋屋敷については、『松平文庫』(福井県立図書館保管)中の指図や文書によって概要を知ることができた。中屋敷は寛永11年に三代藩主忠昌が霊岸島に拝領して依頼、変わらなかったが、当初は下屋敷であった可能性も認められた。この屋敷の概要も『松平文庫』の史料によって解明できる。下屋敷については江戸初期の様相は定かでないが、寛文5年に四代藩主光通が本所屋敷を拝領しており、中期から幕末には同じく本所の堅川や五丁目、十間川、そして中之郷や品川戸越などで下屋敷の拝領と上地が相次ぎ、その間、巣鴨に下屋敷を拝領した時期(延亨2年〜寛政3年)もあった。これら各屋敷の詳細や建築的検討は今後、随時、報告していく予定である。
