The coordination project comprises the central administration and coordination of the RU. It includes the costs for internal meetings, workshops, and lab exchanges for young scientists. It will also develop the public appearance of the RU including hosting of the web page, public relation, and organization and support of RU members for presentation in international congresses and symposia. The coordination project will also organize the Mercator fellowship of Professor Dalmau and Professor Fukata including research stays and visits. To support young academics the coordination project will coordinate special courses, e.g. during the annual meetings of young scientists and promote mentoring measures. The career of female scientists will be further supported by measures of the association `Wissenschaftler:innen und Karriere Jena` (WKJ) to increase the amount of female researchers in scientific leadership positions.
