项目摘要

自然の音環境の構造を明らかにするために、平成5年度は地域生態系の生命活動を反映するような音環境の区分と、音環境の要素の抽出と分類に関する有効で能率的な方法を検討し、平成6年度には以上のまとめと、個々の音環境の音空間における種の分布の特徴の検討と水辺の自然環境の保全のための音による生物学的多様性の指標の予備的な考察を予定している。平成5年度の成果は、次のとおりである。(1)資料収集活動では、利根川の流域調査により、川辺の音環境の基本的な資料(録音・環境写真・諸環境条件)が大方そろった。房総および関連地域の森林ならびに農村と都市の音環境と併せて、音環境の区分に関する検討に必要な基礎材料が整備された。(2)資料整理では、利根川については地点ごとに十分な整理が進んたが、他地域のものの中に整理が不十分なものがあって、資料全体を能率的に検討するにはまだ作業がたりない。ただし、整理の仕方について先に成果を見ているので、今後の進展が期待される。(3)資料分析では、利根川流域の音環境資料について、構成要素の分類整理を終了した。対象とした音源は自然から人間社会までを含み、とくに鳥類・両生類・昆虫類・風などによる植物の音について、種類数と構成を検討した。房総の森林・農村・都市における同様な検討の結果、とくに動物が発生する音については環境区分ごとのの比較が可能となった。ところで、補助金により強力化されたKAY DSP ソナグラフコンピュータシステムとビデオプリンタによる音環境の解析は、基本解析手順の詳細を見いだしたところで、コンピュータシステムのインターフェースについての技術的な問題が生じ、かなり手間取っている。大量のデータを能率的に解析するためのファイルが利用できるようになれば、視覚的な音環境の解析がより自由にできる。(4)新たな知見としては、第1に利根川沿いの音環境が、周辺の地形・植生・土地利用によって多様であること、第2に房総の森林・農村・都市の音環境と照らし合わせると、川辺らしさの要素が抽出可能であること、第3に自然の音の多様性と生物学的多様性の関係について、房総の農村・住宅地・ニュータウンの音環境資料の検討から、都市における自然環境の復元や快的音環境についての基礎的知識や基準に関する考え方をまとめることができた。なお、視覚的な検討が遅れているので、音空間の利用パターンについての結果に関してはここでは保留したい。
