本研究は、ゲーム指導に対して不得意・苦手意識を持つ教師の指導能力を支援するアプリケーション・ソフトの開発とその実用化にある。具体的には、バスケットボール種目を題材に著者が試作した「ゲーム・フリーズ」に関するアプリケーション・ソフトの実用化である。以下、その開発過程を示す。1.プレー画像をアニメーションから実写画像に変換し、プレーヤーの視点やプレー奥行きを鮮明にする。2.ゲーム・フリーズ後に行う指導・助言法の選択に関する診断基準を作成・挿入し、ゲーム・フリーズ能力だけでなく、その際の指導の仕方の能力の開発を促進する。3.改良したアプリケーション・ソフトによる練習効果を実験的に検討し、このコンテンツの実際的有効性を検討する。4.教員養成課程の実践で先導的な教育を展開させているニュージーランドのクライスト・チャーチ教育大学に赴き、改良したアプリケーション・ソフトの有効性と発展性について意見交換を行い、今後の課題を検討する。上記1と2は、平成15年度の研究費により遂行した。平成16年度の研究費は、上記1と2の残り作業を行うとともに、上記3と4の課題を遂行するため使用した。得られた結果の大要は、次のとおりである。上記3の課題を遂行するため、本学の学生20名を対象に、試作したアプリケーション・ソフトによるゲーム・フリーズの練習を行った者(10名)とそうでない者(10名)を比較・検討した。挿入した17種類(40シーン)のミス内容のうち、12種類のミス内容において顕著な成績の伸びが確認された。残る5種類のミス内容のうち3種類に関しては、有意性は認められなかったが、成績は向上した。しかし、「トリプルスレットに関するミス」と「種々のパス選択に関するミス」の2種類において、対照群との間に差異は認められなかった。これには、実験用に作成したプレ・ポスト・テストの画像に間題があったことが考えられた。他方、指導方法の選択およびアプリケーション・ソフトに対する意識調査の結果については、バスケットボール指導に卓越した指導者の結果と同様となり、未熟練者が熟練者に近づくことが確認された。上記4に関しては、試作したアプリケーション・ソフトが初心者の教師だけでなく、プレーヤーのゲーム感覚や状況判断能力を高める作用があるとの指摘を受け、今後課題とした。以上、試作したアプリケーション・ソフトは、教師の指導能力を高める作用のあることが確かめられた。
