The aim of this research project is to develop new visualization techniques for uncertainties in biomolecular data (e.g. protein structures, DNA or RNA), which allow a reliable and at the same time efficient, comprehensive visual analysis of the data. Among other things, the use of illustrative visualization techniques for the representation of uncertainty will be investigated. For the visual analysis and quantification of the uncertainties, both three-dimensional structure data and sequence data will be included and combined in the visualization. In addition to the uncertainties contained in the data, the uncertainty factors induced by analysis methods will also be quantified.
