Linguistic-Anthropological Comparative Study of the Arctic Peoples in North America

在对北美洲北极民族(爱斯基摩人、阿留申人、特林吉特人、阿萨巴斯坎人等)进行实地考察的基础上，跨学科合作(语言学和人类学)试图阐明以下问题：(1)接触前的族裔边界和接触，以及(2)语言反映的生存活动。北美土著语言的初步分类与种族边界密切相关，见参考书目(下文)。然而，正在为出版更广泛的成果做准备。绝对有必要依赖书面文件(人种志、语言描述等)。除了在田野工作中获得的口头信息外，还为这个项目收集的材料编制了一个试探性的参考书目，这是公认的日本最大的美国本土人类学语言学集合，尽管到目前为止还很少。

On the basis of field works in the Arctic peoples in North America (Eskimo, Aleut, Tlingit, Athabaskan, etc.), interdisciplinary cooperation (linguistics and anthropology) attempted to elucidate the problems of (1) precontact ethnic boundaries and contacts, and (2) subsistence activities reflected in language.New insights and information on some specific aspects of those problems have already been published in part (see attached). The tentative classification of North American native languages, which is closely related with ethnic boundaries, is presented in the bibliography (below). Preparation is being made for publishing more extensive results, however.The absolute necessity of relying upon the written documentation (ethnography, linguistic description, etc.) in addition to oral information obtained in the fieldwork led to compiling a tentative bibliography of the materials collected in this project, which is admittedly the biggest collection of America native anthropological linguistics in Japan albeit a very meager one as yet.
