Homemaking Education of Returned Students from Overseas

This study examined from three viewpoints as a link in the chain of the theme about homemaking education of returned students from overseas. Firstly it researched actual condisions and consciousness toward home life overseas and the extent of their awareness toward homemaking education of returned students' parents. Secondly it investigated actual condisions and consciousness toward home life overseas and their thought on homemaking of Japanese school students' parents. Thirdly questionnaire about their home life and perception of homemaking education was completed by the children at Japanese school in the United States.The part of the results are as follows ;1. Parents felt uneasy about the education of their children and daily life overseas. Children did not take much part in household tasks when overseas.2. Both parents who had lived and were living abroad did not much interest in homemaking education. Their conceptions about homemaking could be devided into four types according to age, resident period, resident country and so on.3. Children were generally exposed to a well-off social and educational environmennt. The overall percentage of children doing chores was low.4. They felt that homemaking contributed to daily life and that both boys and girls should study.5. Through these investigations, it was ascertained that people who experienced cross-culture had the characteristics about the conditions of home life and the awareness of homemaking. In future, I decided to research about this theme continuouslly.
