1.背景および研究目的実際の行動場面での行動の所要時間の見積りは、交通移動場面での安全性と密接な関係がある。身近で重要な問題である。ところが、これまでの時間評価研究は実験室内で、能動的な行動の伴わない場面で行なわれてきたに過ぎない。当研究の目的は、能動的な行動開始前の所要時間時間評価と実際の所要時間の関係を明らかにし、その関与要因を明らかにすることである。2.主な実験方法:道路横断場面で、初めに実際には横断を行なわないで、横断を開始したつもりの時に被験者自身にタイマーをON、交差点を抜けたと思うときにOFFとさせて横断所要時間を見積らせ、次に実際に横断させて実際の所要時間を測定した。歩行と自転車による10m,20m,40mの横断場面を設定し、各15名の被験者に10回の試行を行わせた。3.主結果:見積所要時間の過少評価とその規定因:その結果は下の図の通りである。いずれの被験者でも歩行、自転車横断双方で所要時間の明らかな過少評価が示された。この規定因として、横断距離の過少評価が考えられるが、この要因から時間の過少評価全てを説明できないことが別の実験から明らかにされた。また、フィードバックを与えても時間の過少評価は改善されなかった。さらに過少評価傾向は直線横断事態よりも、迂回する複雑な通行事態でより顕著になることが示された。これらの結果は行動時間評価機構研究へのさらなる指針を与えると共に、交通安全教育に活かされるべものである。
