「昭和恐慌期地域社会における社会意識」というテーマのもと、庶民・民衆の意識の上で、具体的にどのようなかたちで〈大正デモクラシー〉から戦時体制への変転が進んでいったかということを愛知県碧海郡安城町という地域社会を例に解明することが、本研究の課題であった。本年は、安城町役場文書・安城町福釜区有文書・碧海郡六ツ美村文書等の公文書、また、『安城農報』『安城』『安城町古井青年会報』等の地域で発行された雑誌を調査し、一部をコピー、マイクロフィルム化することができた。さらに、聞き取り調査をおこなった。その結果、愛知県安城町=碧海郡地域での昭和恐慌期の社会意識の概略が追える見通しがついた。しかしながら、そうした安城町=碧海郡の動向を全国レベルで位置づける作業は十分に進まず、今後の課題として残さざるをえない。その成果は、現在のところ公表にはいたっていないが、その一部は、平成5年度に刊行される『富山国際大学研究紀要』第4号に、また、全体は、平成5年度中に提出予定の学位請求論文『大正デモクラシー期の地域社会と社会意識』に組み込み、発表の予定である。
