まず、1954-93年におけるわが国の国内人口移動パターンの変化を、総務庁統計局:『住民基本台帳人口移動報告年報』に基づいて明らかにした。戦後の人口移動は、1960年代までの三大都市圏への顕著な純流入、1970年代における大都市圏・非大都市圏間移動の平均化、1980年代における首都圏への純流入の漸増および80年代後半からのその縮小、と要約できる。このうち、1970年代以前の時期に関しては、規定要因がかなり詳しく明らかにされてきたので、本研究では1980年代以降の時期に力点を置いた。その結果、1)首都圏の純移動のマクロな水準は、景気変動という要因によって規定されてきた。しかし、その説明力は、経済の高度成長期に比べてずっと低い。2)これ以外には、東京の世界都市化に伴う、金融や対事業所サービス業の成長といった経済的要因、大学入学者の供給数の変化、製造業雇用の縮小、などの原因が、重要と判断された。などの点が明かになった。

1954- 1993 National Population Movement Report, Annual Report on Population Movement, National Bureau of Statistics Population movement in the late 1960s, net inflow from the three metropolitan areas, equalization of movement between metropolitan areas and non-metropolitan areas in the 1970s, gradual increase in net inflow from the capital area in the 1980s, and contraction in the second half of the 1980s. This study focuses on the period before the 1970s and the period after the 1980s. 1) The pure movement of the capital city is due to the change of the level and scene. The explanation is that the growth period of the high growth period is lower than that of the low growth period. 2) Factors contributing to the growth of Tokyo's global urbanization, financial services, and business sectors, changes in the number of university enrolments, and contraction in manufacturing employment, are important factors for determining the impact of globalization on Tokyo. The point is clear.
