本研究の目的は、日本の大都市圏都心地区において新住民の日常生活を支える産業に従業する労働者の職住関係を明らかにすることを通して、人口の都心回帰が大都市圏在住者の日常生活に与える影響を検討することである。2022年度には、国勢調査の調査票情報（未集計の個票データ）を使用して、都心地区の就業者を分析するとともに、Web上の情報をもとにして、都心地区の食料品小売店の立地を分析する計画であった。また、アンケート調査を設計し、調査票の印刷・封緘を印刷業者に発注する計画であった。都心地区の就業者の分析については興味深い結果が得られなかった。今後は「都心地区」の範囲をどのように設定するかなど、対象地域について再検討する必要がある。都心地区の食料品小売店の分析については、web上の情報だけでは当該地域に立地する小売店を網羅的に把握することが難しく、分析に耐えうるだけの十分なデータが得られなかった。今後は資料探索および対象とする小売店の選定が必要である。これらの理由により、アンケート調査の実施は現段階では時期尚早であると判断した。今後も上記2つの分析を優先し、その結果をもとにした仮説が立った段階で、アンケート調査については検討したい。
