Photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy of Tb^<3+>-doped fluorescent glasses was carried out under two-wavelength excitation condition, aiming at a change in their emission on spectra. Both experimental and theoretical results were summarized as follows :1.The lifetime of ^5D_4 level of Tb^<3+>, which should be free from the influence of the resonant-energy transfer at high ionic concentration region, was measured by selective excitation of either ^5D_3 or ^5D_4.2.Each parameter in the nonlinear rate-equations of the resonant-enerygy transfer was determined self-consistently by using the experimental data.3.The realization of controlling the emission spectrum by the IR light, which is resonant to the energy difference between ^5D_3 and ^5D_4 (lambda=1.6mum), depends principally on the excitation density of the resonant IR light.4.When the ^5D_3 (CW) excitation was added to that the ^5D_4 (pulsed), we have observed a change in the time-decay characteristics of the ^5D_3-^7F_5 emission for the first time. The change corresponds to the dynamic interaction between two excitations and is thought to be quite interesting as a point of view of controlling emission spectrum.
