1,サマンタバドラ以前のジャイナ教思想においては一切知者への言及がいわゆる原始聖典の初期から見られ、一切智(sarvajna)および一切見(sarvadarsana)の両語によって表現される。ここに仏教の原始聖典との平行関係が理解される。また業論との関連が多く述べられている。この様な傾向はクンダクンダなどの初期思想家の作品にも明確に見られる。しかし「なぜ一切智者が存在しなければないか」という理論的説明は未発達である。2,本研究の主目的であるサマンタバドラの作品においては一切智者が論考の中心である。特に『聖人考究』Aptamimamsaでは、まず一切智者が存在することが業論との関係を述べながら推論を用いて論証され、ジャイナ教の祖師のみがこれに当たると述べる。続いてジャイナ教哲学の特色である積極的多面説(Anekantavada)を一切智者の教説として説明する。さらに一切智者の知と通常の知の関連が説かれ会通が成立する。3,サマンタバドラ以降のジャイナ教思想では、サマンタバドラによって確立された一切智者論が基本的に受け入れられ発展される。特に推論の証因として「優れた認識手段によって否定されないこと」が上げられる。
