Analysis techniques at electrochemical interfaces have been developed to design new ionic devices suitable for high power-density battery operation. Interfacial reactions of lithium batteries have been determined by new in situ X-ray surface scattering measurements using epitaxial thin-films electrodes. Furthermore, mechanistic studies for new solid electrolyte with highest lithium conductivity show a guideline for development of new materials for energy devices.
