本研究の成果は主に次の二点である。1)まちづくりを考えるためのワークショップや社会実験と支援データベースの運動 2)まちづくり支援データベースの完成 1)はまちづくりの協議のプロセスをシナリオ化することで擬似的に体験し、データを蓄積するための社会実験や、ワークショップのコンテンツを蓄積することでまちづくりの支援管理システムとしてのデータベースの活用を行った。2)については、まちづくりアイディアやデータを地図のポイントとリンクする、flashなどを用いたインターフェースのデータベースと、GISを活用したデータベースを作成した。さらに完成したデータベースについてまちづくりデータベースとGISの専門家と意見交換を行い、データベースの今後の可能性と方向性を明らかにした。
