In recent years, Japan has confronted many critical issues in education, including a decline in academic performance and non-attendance. Many new education policies have been enacted to deal with these issues, including free public high school tuition and limiting the class size of elementary school classes to 35 students. In our research, we seek to synthesize available data and to perform evaluation analysis of these educational measures. Results that deserve special mention include estimating the effects of high school tuition reduction measures in preventing dropouts, which differed depending on the course of study, and the effect of class size on academic ability, which differed between elementary and junior high school. As new educational policies are implemented going forward, there is an increasing public need to evaluate their effectiveness econometrically.

近年来，日本的教育面临许多严重问题，包括学业成绩下降和缺勤等。为了解决这些问题，已经颁布了许多新的教育政策，包括免费公立高中学费以及将小学班级人数限制在 35 人以内。在我们的研究中，我们寻求综合现有数据并对这些教育措施进行评估分析。值得特别一提的结果包括估计高中学费减免措施在防止辍学方面的效果（根据学习课程的不同而有所不同），以及班级规模对学业能力的影响（在小学和初中之间有所不同）。随着新的教育政策的不断实施，公众越来越需要通过计量经济学来评估其有效性。
