本研究は、（1）海洋酸性化や海水温の上昇（プラネタリースケール）、人口減にともなう養殖漁業形態の変遷（国家のスケール）、染色体操作など育種技術を用いた資源管理（微小な存在のスケール）など、牡蠣のコモディティチェーンの各局面で見られる不確実性・不安定性の動態を明らかにし、（2）牡蠣生産者、卸・仲卸業者、海洋生態・生理学者、バイオテクノロジーベンチャー、飲食業者が異種やウイルス等と関わりあう過程で生み出される共生政治的な実践について考察することを目的としている。2021年度から2022年度にかけて、広島県地御前漁協の協力を仰ぎながら「海底耕うん」と呼ばれる里海事業について参与観察した。本事例研究は、2021年10月に英国王立人類協会で単著査読論文（"Cultivating the Ocean: Reflections on Desolate Life and Oyster Restoration in Hiroshima"）を発表し、その後2022年12月に日本文化人類学会公開シンポジウムで研究報告を行なった。ブックチャプター論文が2023年度中に刊行予定である。その他、本研究に直接関連した2022年度の実績は下記の通り：『現代思想』「特集：肉食主義を考える」（青土社）への寄稿、学部生向けの科学技術社会論にかんする教科書（ナカニシヤ出版）への寄稿、アジア学会（AAS）パネル"Waves of Rupture: The politics of improvised coexistence of sea beings" オーガナイザー・チェア・論文発表（"Coexistence As a Fractal: Exhausted Oyster Life, Ocean Warming, and Multispecies Care in Japan")。

The results of this study are as follows: (1) Acidification of the ocean and rise of sea temperature Population reduction, aquaculture and fishery morphology change, chromosome manipulation, breeding technology and resource management (2) Oyster producers, unloading and unloading industries, marine ecologists and physiologists, and food and beverage industries are closely related to the practice of symbiotic politics in the process of production. 2021 to 2022, the cooperation of the Japanese Fishery Association is expected to be held in Guangzhou, China, and the cooperation of the Japanese Fishery Association will be held in Guangzhou. This case study was published in October 2021 by the Royal Society for Anthropology in the United Kingdom ("Cultivating the Ocean: Reflections on Desolate Life and Oyster Restoration in Hiroshima") and published in December 2022 by the Japanese Cultural Anthropology Society. The paper will be published in the middle of 2023.
