项目摘要

本研究課題「合理的なフィクションとしての道徳と道徳的介入の限界」は，「道徳懐疑論を前提としたときに合理的なフィクションとして我々はいかなる内容の道徳を受け入れるべきか」という問いに具体的かつ詳細な解答を与えることを目的としている．本年度の研究では主に2つのことがなされた．第１に，研究の前提となる道徳懐疑論，とくに道徳についての認識的懐疑論（epistemological skepticism）についての再検討を行った．具体的には，我々の道徳的信念の相互依存性によって，常識道徳（common sense morality）の少なくとも一部に関しては，その信念が正当化されないこと，徳倫理学において提示されている方法論にはそれ特有の問題があることなどを指摘し，道徳認識論の困難について検討した．第2に,本研究課題の最終的な目標は，道徳懐疑論の吟味に耐えうる合理的なフィクションとしての道徳の可能性の検討であるが，これに関しては，フィクションとしての道徳の可能性に反対し，道徳的実践の廃絶を主張する廃絶論（abolitionism）の検討を行った.廃絶論の論拠は主に2つあり，すなわち，虚構主義（fictionalism）の実行可能性と，道徳的実践の有害性ないし道徳的実践の廃絶の有益性である．とりわけ後者については，道徳判断はしばしば我々自身の行為の規制として働くのであるが，これに関しては美的判断や法に関する判断によって代替できるのではないか,という議論を検討した．
