本研究の目的は、インフレ期待と消費の関係性を明らかにし、異時点間の代替の弾力性を推定することである。先進諸国において、金融政策の手段の一つである金利がゼロになり、伝統的な金融政策に手詰まり感が漂っている。このようなゼロ金利制約下において、先進諸国の中央銀行は、期待に働きかける非伝統的金融政策を運営している。この非伝統的金融政策の背景には、インフレ期待と消費の理論的に整理された関係性がある。しかし、両者の関係性は実証的なコンセンサスが得られておらず、またインフレ期待の変化がどの程度消費を変化させるのかについては明らかにされていない。その理由は、インフレ期待と消費の両方のデータを揃えることが困難だからである。本研究は、インフレ期待と消費のデータを揃え、インフレ期待と消費の関係性を明らかにし、さらに金利の変化に対して消費配分がどの程度変化するのかを捉えるパラメータである異時点間の代替の弾力性を構造的に推定する。令和4年度は、進行中であったインフレ期待と消費の関係性に関する研究を進めた。インフレ期待と消費の関係性について、現実と理論的想定が一致しているのかどうかを検証した。分析の結果、現実は理論と整合的であるという結果を得た。具体的には、インフレ期待が上昇すると将来と比較した現在の消費は配分を増やすという結果が得られた。これらの分析結果をまとめ、国際誌への投稿も行った。さらに、異時点間の代替の弾力性の推定のため、データを整理するとともに、分析手法の精緻化を進めた。具体的には、大阪大学社会経済研究所が収集している「くらしの好みと満足度に関するアンケート調査」を分析のために整理した。また、初期分析も実施し、インフレ期待と消費の関係性は現実と理論的想定が一致していることを確認している。
