Precession electron diffraction system

The precession electron diffraction system will be operated at the transmission electron microscopes of Philipps-Universität Marburg. It will open up new research possibilities. One focus is here on orientation mapping of polycrystalline specimen, especially solid electrolytes and cathodes in batteries. Moreover, it will be used for the strain analysis in semiconductor hetero- and nanostructures. In methodological projects the system will be applied to adjust kinematic diffraction conditions for 4-dimensional scanning transmission electron microscopy.
