本課題としては初年度ではあったが、継続調査プロジェクトであることから先行調査のデータ分析によって複数の研究実績を得ている。例えば沖縄における米軍基地問題について、その意識の世代間とその要因を実証的に示したものである。2017年の沖縄調査を分析した結果の具体的な知見としては、①「マス・メディア不信」の強さ、②「反米感情」の弱さ、③「安全保障に対する危機意識」の強さ、④「沖縄の経済は米軍基地が無いと成り立たない」という認識の強さ、という若い世代の4つの特徴が米軍基地に対する容認的な傾向を生む要因となっていた。またその中でも最も大きな世代差をもたらす要因となっていたのは、④の経済的な基地依存の認識であった。また欧州の研究で論じられている新自由主義が反移民意識との関連について、日本でもそれが当てはまるかを検討した。結果、日本では極右政党の存在が希薄で、外国人居住率が低いなどの特徴がありつつも、欧州と同様に新自由主義的態度が反移民意識と関連することが示された。この結果は、新自由主義と反移民的な態度との関連は必ずしも社会的コンテクストに依存せず、むしろ移民への「福祉依存」などのステレオタイプがその関連を促進することを示唆する。他にも2010年代における外国人に対する「脅威」の認識がどのような要因によって生み出され、どのように排外主義と結びつくのかを分析した結果、社会不安が「脅威」の認知に影響し、その「脅威」認知を媒介して排外主義に対して影響することが確認された。さらに本プロジェクトで実施した調査のうち、2017年に実施した全国調査並びに沖縄調査のデータについてはSSJDA（Social Science Japan Data Archive）への寄託手続きを行っており、以前に寄託した2009年・2013年調査とともに、今後研究者コミュニティにおいて広く利用可能となっていく予定である。
