Repetitive voluntary motion of hemiplegic limb in physical training and motor learning are extremely important for the functional recovery of hemiplegic limbs. The purposes of this study were to study the effect of trans-cranial magnetic stimulation(TMS) on functional recovery of hemiplegia and motor learning.1)System was designed to combine the TMS and facilitation techniques. The trigger for beginning of the TMS was detected with laser light switch for the finger movements. Duration from the trigger to the TMS was designed to be variable. The finger movements were inducted using new designed system. Voltage of EMG evoked this system was bigger that in voluntary movement. The duration from the trigger to the finger movement and magnitude of TMS were studied.2)The summative effect of TNS and repetitive facilitation technique on functional recovery of hemiplegia was studied in three patients with chronic stroke. The functional recovery of hemiplegic limb were found in two of three patients3)The study presented here uses a Computerized Motor Skill Analyzer to examine motor learning tasks in the lower limbs. The normal task in the present study involved tracking a figure-eight with a foot marker. Following a limited practice session the subjects were required to perform a task involving mirror- or point-symmetry movement. This paradigm was used in order to elucidate the effect of motor learning obstruction, and revealed that while motor skills improved in the control group, no significant improvement was seen in the learning obstruction groups. Furthermore, the mirror image task impeded motor learning more than the point symmetry task.
