The aims of this study were to (1)analyze the existing teaching materials of HIV/AIDS education, (2)survey the student's needs and risk perception about HIV and AIDS, (3)determine major factors in determining the overall success of HIV/AIDS education, (4)and develop the effective typical teaching materials for HIV/AIDS risk reduction programs in schools. The results indicate that the existing teaching materials for HIV/AIDS education in United Kingdom and U.S.A. have risk reduction approach in their programs.Survey of middle school student's risk perception about HIV/AIDS infection indicate that their perceived susceptibility of HIV infection is lower than canser. The teaching materials for HIV/AIDS risk reduction programs was developed and high school classroom intervention was delivered. The student's risk perception was significantly higher for post-test than pre-test.The findinds were discussed in terms of their implications for HIV/AIDS infection prevention programs targeting adolescent populations, and suggestions were made concerning the importance of future research on the introdusing and integration of risk concepts into school-based programs.
