Study on knowledge management model and its evaluation system for NPO activities concerning environmental conservation

The core concept of the NPO activity is to create necessary knowledge for the regional society to develop local community. This study attempts to develop the theory and the technique of knowledge management for NPO activity and create more effective tools for evaluating its outcomes. The case at Kyoto Prefecture Amino-cho and Hokkaido nature conservation school (Sapporo City, Hokkaido and Kuromatsunai-cho, Conservation movement in Yamagata Prefecture Shonai coast, Katano Kamoike conservation movement (Ishikawa Prefecture Kaga City), and Kuruoshio center (Kochi Prefecture Otsuki-cho oak island) were examined in detail. Moreover, it was analyzed and evaluated from the hypothesis that the enactment process of the NPO activity is activated by knowledge management. The authors proposed a circuit model for creative NPO management. The model is characterized by four different phases, Opening store, Presentation, Networking and Evaluation. Each stage presents a process of the management. Phases start from internal transmission to internal formation and move into external transmission, then finally to external formation. The evaluations of NPO activities are likely to be checked by the degree of knowledge creation. It is effectively valued by a newly developed balance table as a general model for the NPO activity. The above-mentioned result contributed to the announcement in Japan NPO Research Association and the environmental economic policy society and the Japanese coastal society, etc. and was published.
