現代社会における重要なスポーツ活動として,年齢,身体能力,心あるいは身体障害などにとらわれず,誰もが楽しむことができるアダプテッド・スポーツがあげられる。一般社会においては,スポーツ実施環境の整備などが進んだこともあって,このアダプテッド・スポーツ活動が盛んになってきたように思われる。一方、大学を含む学校の教育において,体育実技あるいはスポーツ実習科目でのアダプテッド・スポーツについては,開講されているのか,開講されている場合どのような内容で行われているのかなど,その授業の実態は明らかではない。誰もがスポーツを楽しむ権利があり,とりわけ障害者スポーツを中心とした生涯スポーツの発展のためには,学校におけるスポーツ教育が重要になってくる。そこで,本研究は小・中・高等学校,養護学校および大学において,障害学生あるいは低体力者を対象とした体育実技について開講の有無,授業内容および実施における問題点について総合的に調査研究をするために,共同研究計画の詳細な案を作ることを目的とした。共同計画案は次のとおりである。(1)小学校,中学校,高校,養護学校,盲学校等については,各地域でいくつかの学校について調査を行う。(2)大学においては,次の三つに分けて調査を行うこととした。・障害者スポーツ指導員養成のための授業(対象校:東北文化学園,東北福祉大学,仙台大学等)・障害者スポーツを一般学生に経験させる授業(対象校:立命館大学,日本福祉大学等)・障害者のための授業(対象校:日本福祉大学,広島大学,放送大学等)本研究を遂行するに当たり,新たな共同研究者を加え,来年度から科学研究費補助金・基盤研究(B)の研究期間3年間に申請することとした。また,調査対象を日本における小学校,中学校,高校,養護学校,盲学校,大学におけるアダプテッド・スポーツ教育だけでなく,海外の事情,特にアメリカ,ドイツ,韓国におけるアダプテッド・スポーツ教育についても調査対象として加えることとした。
