本研究の目的は,ベトナムにおける人文地理学の発展・変遷史を体系化し,日本とベトナムの地理学者による国際共同研究の企画を行うことである。具体的には,日越の人文地理学者による打ち合せ会議,意見交換会議および研究会の開催とベトナムにおける資料収集を中心に行った。日本国内の研究者間の研究打ち合せを2回(4月:大阪,6月:鳥取)で行い,活動方針を決定した。7月にはベトナムの海外共同研究者2名が所属するベトナム国家大学ハノイ理科大学地理学部で打ち合せ会議と研究会を合計3回実施した。8月にはベトナム国家大学ホーチミン人文社会大学地理学部の研究者と意見交換会議を開催し,本研究の趣旨説明と協力依頼を行った。この結果,ベトナム北部に偏りがちであったベトナム側協力研究者を,ベトナム南部へも広げることができ,ベトナム全国的な研究体制が確立された。また9月には研究代表者の野間が,"Japanese Geography : Tradition and Innovation in the 20th Century"をベトナム国家大学(ハノイ理科大学地理学部)とベトナム地理学会の共同刊行物に発表し,ベトナム地理学者に対し広く,人文地理学の発展・変遷史を体系化の必要性を呼びかけた。筒井一伸は日本の地域開発に関わる動向,筒井由起乃はベトナム地理学会の動向を公刊した。10月にはベトナムの共同研究者と,ハノイで打ち合せ会議と研究会を合計2回もち,各分野のベトナム側責任者の選定が完了した。以上の本年度の活動の結果,各研究分野のベトナム側コアメンバーが確定し,人文地理学の発展・変遷史を体系化に向けた国際共同研究体制が確立した。平成19年度は本研究の成果を基礎に,ベトナム地理学の発展・変遷史に関する研究活動を別途資金を得て,継続することとなっている。

The purpose of this study is to systematize the development history of human geography and to plan international joint research by Japanese geographers. Specific information is provided by the Japanese Human Geographers at the Conference, the Exchange of Views Conference, and the Research Conference. 2 times (April: Osaka, June: Tottori). July 2 overseas co-researchers affiliated to the National University of Science, Department of Geography, and 3 research meetings In August, the National University of the Arts and Social Sciences held a meeting to exchange views with researchers in the Department of Geography, and the purpose of this study was explained. As a result, the research system of the whole country has been established. In September, Noma Gai, a research representative,"Japanese Geography : Tradition and Innovation in the 20th Century," was invited to the National University of Japan (Department of Geography, National University of Science) and the National Geographic Society to jointly publish a report on the need to systematize the history of human geography. Ichinobu Tsutsutsui has published a report on Japan's regional development trends, and Yuki Tsutsui has published a report on Japan's geographical development trends. October 2016 - 2017 The selection of co-investigators, co-researchers and research conferences for each division was completed. As a result of the above activities, the research areas have been identified, and the development and evolution of human geography has been systematized towards an international common research system. In 2019, the foundation of this research was established, and the research activities related to the development and evolution of geography were funded separately.
