项目摘要

本研究は「なぜ農業法人は海外進出するのか、なぜ企業は海外で農業参入を図るのか」という問いに対して、事例分析を中心とした手法でアプローチを進めている。研究初年度は、３つの事例調査（現地調査）を行った。まず海外調査は２名の分担者が２つの事例分担する形で現地訪問による調査を実施した。具体的にはニュージーランドと日本国内の２拠点で果樹生産を行う法人の事例と、ベトナムにおいて農業参入を図る日系企業への調査を実施した。そして国内調査はタイで日本スタイルの栽培管理技術の導入したバナナ生産事業をに現地パートナーと共同で行う法人を対象に、研究メンバー全員による対面でのヒアリング事例調査を行った。この３事例で得られた知見としては、海外で農業参入するケースのうち、国内農業法人が海外進出する際には進出を支える人的資源と現地国でのネットワークが重要であることなどを明らかにした。ニュージーランドと日本の２拠点で果樹生産を行う法人では、季節の異なる南半球で生産を行うことで、周年雇用の実現と年間作業の平準化（コロナ禍で当初の計画未達）、周年供給の実現を目指している点を把握した。海外調査の結果については、追加調査を実施し、学会発表等を行う予定である。初年度の実績としては、日本フードサービス学会研究部会において、「農業と外食の連携の意義－経営課題解決への接近－」をテーマに、論点整理（座長解題）を行った。この論点整理では、コメの海外市場開拓とフードサービス業によるコメ生産に参入した海外進出する日本のフードサービス業と連携する農業法人の事例報告の論点を整理した。具体的には海外市場開拓のメリットが円安基調により増強されていること、実需者（フードサービス業）ニーズに合致した規模拡大により農業経営の安定化が図られている点を解説した。
