项目摘要

我々は、感性語を含む日本語文によって、画像データベースを検索するシステムについて研究を進めた。データベースに関する専門知識やデータベースに格納されているデータ自体に関する専門知識をもたないナイーブなユーザが、画像データベースを自由に利用できるような枠組みについて考察を進めた。特に、(1)できるだけ制限を加えない自然言語(日本語)で、(2)直感的印象を表すための表現を十分に考慮し、(3)暫定的検索結果を随時見ながら対話的に要求を出しつつ検索を進める、という方針でシステム開発を進めた。事務用椅子の画像データベース検索システムを平成4年度に試作した。平成5年度では、感性語の収集、辞書の整備などを行った。同時に、試作したシステムを用いて検索処理を試行する過程で明らかになった問題点とそれにたいする対処について考察した。その成果として、直感的印象を表明する感性表現の利用を含め、できるだけ制限をなくした日本語で対話的に検索要求を明確化してゆくことで、専門的知識を持たないユーザでも無理なく希望する画像を検索できる枠組みを実現できた。感性情報を取り扱う場合、個人個人の個性に対応することが重要なポイントの一つとなる。本システムで実現した方法も、将来的に感性表現解釈用のデータベースを個人ごとに用意することで、個性への対応が可能である。今後、個人ごとに感性解釈用データベースを構築するための機構を用意する必要がある。
