项目摘要

専門知識をもたない一般のユーザが、画像データベースを自由に利用できるような枠組みについて考察した。事務用椅子の電子化カタログを題材として、受理可能な文体の拡張、表色系の改良、形状特徴と感性語の対応づけ、システムの評価実験などの研究を本年度行った。1.受理可能な文体の拡張:検索に用いる特徴は、椅子の背に関する画像特徴(色、形)である。感性語の解釈に関して、通常表現や比較表現に加えて、本年度は、複数の感性語による修飾表現の解釈機能の考察とその実装を行った。2.表色系の改良:感性的な言語表現から検索条件を絞り込むことを考えると、人間の直感と整合した表色系であり、検索範囲には常に色彩が存在するような表色系を採用しなければならない。本システムでは、マンセル表色系に基づく凸形状の色空間を定義し、実装した。3.形状特徴と感性語の対応づけ:SD法を用いて椅子に関する印象を表現する感性的意味空間を構成し、主要な因子に沿って実際の椅子形状を並べ、視察によってその因子に直接影響を与える物理的特徴量を抽出した。それらの特徴を基に因子の値を近似する式を導くことによって、感性的表現を解釈して画像から抽出可能な特徴量に関する制約条件を導出した。4.システムの評価実験:本研究で開発した自然言語インタフェースと、従来のGUIとの比較を中心に、本システムの評価実験を進めた。
