TSH receptor antibody (TRAb) causes Graves' disease. TSH-binding inhibitor immunoglobulin (TBII) and thyroid stimulating antibody (TSAb) have been measured as TSH receptor antibody (TRAb) to diagnose Graves' disease. TBII is measured as a receptor assay and TSAb as a stimulator assay. TSAb stimulates the thyroid gland and causes Graves' hyperthyroidism. TSAb reflects thyroid stimulating antibody (TSAb)-activity, but TBII does not necessarily do so. TBII may reflect the activity of TSH-stimulation blocking antibody (TSBAb). TSBAb causes hypothyroidism. TBII has been widely used to diagnose Graves' disease.The aim of this study is to develop highly sTSAb (sensitive thyroid-stimulating antibody)-assay. We also intended to develop highly sensitive assay for TSH receptor antibody (TRAb), which would measure TSAb, TSBAb, and TBII, simultaneously.We developed a highly sensitive TSAb (sTSAb) assay. We are now developing new assay to measure TSAb, TSBAb, and TBII, simultaneously.
