言語生成発展モデルを念頭に置き,一方では,韻律面・文法面から,言語発出と言語理解の心的プロセスを分析し,言語の生成発展に関する主要な認知的・語用論的因子を抽出した.具体的には,話し手の動的な事態認知プロセスに注目して事態認知の部分的なモデル化をおこない,事態表現の通言語的変異を部分的に解明した.さらに,〈する〉と〈なる〉,アイコニシティー,自己投射,アフォーダンス,視野などの,人間と環境のインタラクションに関する基本的諸概念を,認知対照言語学(ひいては言語起源研究)のパラダイムの中に位置付けるという基礎論的研究もおこなった.他方,調音面・文法面から文構造に関する言語類型的因子分析をおこない,認知的・語用論敵因子との相関を調べた.さらに,パターン認識に対するクラスアプローチについての一般論を展開し,言語パターン認識,音声パターン認識,画像パターン認識などへの応用が可能な定式化をおこなった.これらの成果をもとに平成8年度は,まず,幾つかの仮説モデル(普及モデル,及び,普及モデルを基礎づける,よいミクロなモデル)を選び,それらのモデルに含まれる言語的パラメタを先の分析から決定する.また,選ばれたモデルの時間発展に関するアルゴニズムについては,遺伝子深化アルゴニズムの確率過程に基づくものを中心に,拡散型まで含めて検討する予定である.
