考古学研究者の多くが手にしうる共通の資料といえば、モノクロの実測図で、中心は様々に表現された陶磁器である。数多く報告されるものゆえ、当時大量に使われていたことが分かり、歴史的にも正しく陶磁器についての解釈がなされなければならない。つまり、このような実測図を扱うための方法論の確立が求められている。実測図そのものからは、たとえば中にどのくらいのものが入るか、つまり容量さえも知ることができる。2年間にわたるこれまでの研究で、mathematica によるプログラムの'FNCT-VCALSystem-M'システムを作り上げてきた。また今回は、‘C言語'によるプログラムとして、'FNCT-VCALSystem-C'を作り上げた。'FNCT-VCALSystem-M'では、たとえば239.4リットル入る陶器を計算し比較すると約3%の差がでた。計算上392秒かかった。時間短縮が大きな課題ではある。'FNCT-VCALSystem-C'では、'NIH Image'で画像を二値化したところ、Mathematicaによる二値化に比べて、NIH Imageによる方が4割方容量が少なくてすむ。また新たな研究成果として、'FNCT-VCALSystem-C'の一貫としての尺貫法換算システムを開発した。これは、容量を各時代の尺貫法によって表わすべきシステムで、容量計算システムによって得られた容量の数値を、各容量計測段階で算出する方法である。
