・インド思想における宗教と哲学(論理)の相補関係を文献実証的に解明する一つの切り口として、10世紀前後のバラモン哲学文献の綿密な解読を軸に、ヴェーダ聖典観の展開を辿り、あわせて、世界諸文明における<古典>の概念との対比のもとに、インドの古典観(聖典観)の特質の一端を明らかにするため、特にジャヤンタの主著『ニヤーヤ・マンジャリー』(NM)の第1章(序論)、第2章(推理節中心)、第3章(聖典権威論証)の解析と、ヴァーチャスパティの『ニヤーヤヴァールッティカ・タートパリヤティーカー』のヴェーダ聖典の権威論証の箇所の綿密な解読を行った。そして両者の聖典観の比較により、ジャヤンタの時代的先行性の信憑性は、さらに強化される結果となった。・またサンスクリット原典解読にあたっては、諸版本照合のほか、一部写本を参照して(NM第2,3章)版本の欠を補うとともに、西洋古典学、聖書解釈学における本文批評の方法論と比較検討を行った結果、事実上、西洋古典学の方法がインド古典の読解にも適用されているが、写本保存・伝承の多様性や、写本使用の必要度などにインド古典研究の特殊事情があるほか、異読の発生をすべて理性的に割り切ろうとする根底の精神自体、なお相対化して反省されるべき点があることが明らかとなった。・ルネッサンスを経て、神学と哲学の分離を経験した西洋近代とはことなり、宗教と哲学との連続性が顕著なインド思想界に接近するためには、伝統重視と歴史批判との緊張関係をなお孕んだユダヤ学との親近性を、今後はもっと意識する必要性があるという点が、A02班の共同研究によって明らかとなった。これが本特定領域研究全体の趣旨に照らして、もっとも注目すべき新知見である。

In fact, the method of western classics is applied to the original canon. In this paper, the diversity of the original canon is preserved. The necessity of writing this book is not only the special things of classical study, but also the development of different things. In modern times, the separation of religion and philosophy is closely related to the close relationship between religion and philosophy. In the future, it is necessary to study together. This is the first time that we've seen this.
