本研究は、古典インドの言語論・言語哲学の特質と展開を、テキストの精密な読解と比較論的な観点からの再検討を通じて明らかにすることを目的としたものであった。前年度までにほぼ完了していた、古代インドの言語哲学者バルトリハリの主著『ヴァーキヤ・パディーヤ』全体の読解研究を受けて、最終年度である本年度は、ジャイナ教論書のうちの『ドゥヴァーダシャーラ・ナヤ・チャクラム』および『サンマティ・タルカ・プラカラナ』に見られるプラフマニズム言語論に対する批判を分析することを個人研究における課題とした。また同時に、他分野・多領域の研究者との討議・共同研究を通じて、西洋やイスラーム世界における言語論・言語哲学についての知識を深化させ、古典インドの言語論・言語哲学の比較論的再検討を行うことを目的とした。ジャイナ教論書に見られる言語論批判の検討については、『ドゥヴァーダシャーラ・ナヤ・チャクラム』第5章の研究を終え、ジャイナ教論書における正統文法学派とバルトリハリ思想の位置づけについての検討を終えた。言語論・言語哲学を専門とする諸領域の古典研究者との討議・共同研究の方は、所属する「古典の世界像」班の共同研究テーマが「魂論の諸相」となったことから、十分には行えなかったが、「魂と言語」の問題については十分に考究する機会を得た。所属するA04班「古典の世界像」班の共同研究テーマ「魂論の諸相」に関連しては、その成果として「魂論の諸相-古代インドにおける魂と自己の問題」を論文として提出した。さらに申請者は公募研究に採択された者であるが、総括班報告の一部として「インド学史:近代インド学の成立(サンスクリットの発見から第2次世界大戦まで)」の執筆を分担した。

This study focuses on the development, precision and comparative analysis of the characteristics of classical speech theory and philosophy. The previous year was completed, and the ancient language philosophers were invited to participate in the study of the whole solution. The final year was completed. Discussion of classical researchers in various fields of speech theory, philosophy of speech, belonging to the class of "classical world images", and opportunities for "soul theory and various phases" The joint research paper of Class A04 "Classical World Image" on the relationship between "Soul Theory and Its Phases" and "Soul Theory and Its Phases-Ancient World Image" was presented.
