Linux cluster for scientific high-performance computing

This proposal summarizes the current requirements for primarily CPU-based compute resources for scientific high-performance computing at the University of Augsburg, which can be met by setting up a new high-performance Linux cluster. Specifically, the proposed Linux cluster will address and perform compute- and data-intensive research projects of the chairs involved in the proposal from the fields of physics, materials sciences (materials resource management), medicine, mathematics, geography, and computer science.
