今年度は、前年度収集した認知距離デ-タの解析とその結果の解釈、そして論文としてのとりまとめを行なった。結果の概要は以下のとおりである。1.札幌市の認知距離デ-タを、ノンメトリックなMDS手法のKYSTとTobler(1965)の2次元ユ-クリッド回帰分析を用い2分析した結果、被験者の札幌市内の認知地図は非ユ-クリッド空間の特性を有していることがわかった。これは、碁盤目状の市街地道路が認知地図形成に関係していることを示唆するものである。2.新潟市の認知距離デ-タを、個人差を扱いうるメトリックなMDS手法のINDSCALで分析した結果、被験者の居住歴と居住地の違いにより、各人の認知地図の相違が説明されることがわかった。3.非対称距離デ-タに適用される、ノンメトリックなMDS手法のSSA-IIを、長崎市の認知距離デ-タに適用した結果、地形条件が認知地図形成に影響を与えていることが判明した。4.Tobler(1965)の2次元ユ-クリッド回帰分析を改良した方法を開発し、東京の認知距離デ-タを分析した結果、この方法は、認知地図と現実の地図の対応関係をより正確に把握しうることがわかった。以上、2年次にわたる調査研究より、認知地図研究の現在の状況の理解を深めることが可能になったとともに、MDSの認知地図研究への適用の有効性と問題点も明らかにしえた。今後は、様々な空間的行動と認知地図との関係について検討を加えたいと考えている。なお、以上の研究成果は近日中に印刷物として刊行予定である。
