项目摘要

本年度から研究課題の遂行をスタートさせた。当初の予定では令和４年度は柔道における比喩表現の抽出・分析を行う予定であったが、剣道を専門とする大学院生が研究協力者になってくれることになったため、計画を変更し、剣道における比喩表現の抽出・分析から始めることとした。近現代の剣道書から比喩表現を抽出し、分析を行い、その結果を日本武道学会第54回大会において研究発表を行った（筆頭著者は研究協力者）。抽出開始当初、竹刀を握ったときの手の形や、足の動き方、相手との関係性などに比喩表現が多く用いられるのではと予想していたが、最も用いられていたのは「心のあり方」「気のあり方」という内容に関してであった。武道においては、「身心一如」という言葉があるように、伝統的に身体と心を分けてとらえる考え方をしないため、技術の中に精神的な要素が多く含まれるが、この結果はこのことを裏付けるものであったと考える。また、研究代表者自身はこれまでに専門的に研究をすすめてきた「直心影流」という剣術流派の伝書から比喩表現を抽出・分析し、この内容についても日本武道学会第54回大会において研究発表を行った。その結果、手の内に関する比喩表現で現在も用いられている「茶巾絞り」という表現が直心影流の伝書にも確認され、少なくとも江戸中期からこの表現が用いられていたことが明らかとなった。また、直心影流は「気」を非常に重要視する流派であることからか、気に関する比喩表現が多くみられた。
