本研究は、中国のグローバル展開の中で「中華圏」（香港、台湾、シンガポール等）が中国との経済交流を自地域の発展にリンクさせると同時に、「中華圏」が人的交流という直接的な接触を通じて直面する課題と社会変容について、台湾を中心に、同地域と中国の政治経済関係の変化と対中認識、台湾社会に与えた影響等を明らかにすることを目的としている。当初、本年度の研究実施計画では、中国のグローバル展開と人的往来が与える社会及び対外認識への影響に関する研究を中心に、台湾における中国からの人的移動の規模、特徴について分析し、中国との経済統合や人的移動の拡大が、シンガポール、香港等で顕在化した現地社会の就業機会や公共資源を奪う存在となっているのか否か、対中認識に与える影響等について、現地での文献調査、インタビュー調査を予定していた。新型コロナウイルスパンデミックの影響により、当該国・地域及び所属大学の渡航制限等により、年度前半は、夏季休暇等を利用した現地調査は実施できず、インターネットや現地新聞等を中心にした文献調査のみとなった。中国のグローバル展開と人的往来が与える社会及び対外認識への影響について、中華圏内での中国人の移動状況の検証、中台間の人的移動の状況について、比較分析を行う視点から、馬英九前政権と蔡英文政権以降での変化について台湾における中国からの人的移動の規模、特徴について考察した。また、コロナ禍を受けた人的移動の停止がもたらした影響、経済関係の相関性の有無などについて検証を行った。本年度後半の当該国・地域の制限緩和を受けて、年度末に実施した台湾での現地調査では、台湾を取り巻く中華圏の情勢変化(香港情勢、コロナパンデミック、米中関係、台湾海峡情勢など)が台湾をはじめとする中華圏の人々の世論や対中認識に与えた影響について、政府機関、シンクタンクにおいて文献調査、インタビュー調査を実施した。
