项目摘要

本研究の目的は、国際標準が定める保管モデルから逸脱した状態で保管されていた電子記録にある証拠性を分析し、復元しながら整理するためのワークフローを構築することである。本年度に最初に注目したのは、はんこと電子署名である。はんこは、古来より日本において記録の認証の役割を果たしてきた。現在でも、プリントアウトした文書に押印する行為が継続されている。近年のデジタル社会において、押印という行為の非効率性が非難されているが、市販の認印では本人による押印であることも確証できない。つまり、記録の認証という機能すら失われているといえる。この点、自筆の署名が定着した西洋とは対照的である。また、同じような認証の機能を果たすものとして電子署名があげられるが、タイムスタンプをあわせたとしても有効期限があるため、更新の必要がある。電子記録を永久保存する第三者機関であるアーカイブズにとって、電子署名が果たす有効性を維持でき続けるかは疑わしい。以上の点につき、カナダ・アーキビスト協会で報告を行った。国際標準が定める保管モデルから逸脱した状態で保管される電子記録の最たる事例は、個人所蔵の資料群である。電子記録資料群の整理については、デジタル・フォレンジックスのツールであるビットキュレーター（BitCurator）が北米ですでに開発されている。そのツールにより、古来より記録の証拠判定の方法論であった文書形態学（古文書学、Diplomatics）を電子記録について実践できることを確認した。成果は、「電子個人記録の整理方法：デジタル・フォレンジックスによる原秩序の検証」（『京都大学大学文書館研究紀要』21号）で公表した。電子記録保存の国際プロジェクトであるInterPARESにも3月に参画が決定した。国際的な観点から、来年度以降も研究を継続していく。
