项目摘要

フェローシップの最初の数ヶ月で大きな進歩を遂げました。資料調査の面では、東京の公共交通機関の発達や乗客の行動に関する歴史的な資料を業界誌などを収集したことが大きな成果です。これらの資料の整理に加え、分析にも着手し、日本の首都における都市交通の経験の歴史だけでなく、交通事業者の視点についても重要な知見を得ることができました。このテーマに関する日本語の文献にも目を通し、日本の公共交通と都市のモビリティについてより深く理解することができました。これは、こちらの分析のための重要な基礎となるものです。また首都圏の都市鉄道利用者へのインタビューも実施しました。1～2時間にわたる徹底したインタビューは、東京の都市鉄道システムにおける現代の乗客の経験について洞察を得ることができ、上述の歴史的視点と対をなすものです。2年間のフェローシップ期間中に、この2つの視点を結びつけることが本研究の一つの重要な目標です。さらに現在、複数の国際共同出版プロジェクトに携わっていますが、これらもJSPS任期中に結実することが期待されています。これら進行中の特集号や編集巻への私の貢献は、JSPSのフェローシップ期間中に収集したデータに大きく基づくものです。最後に、フェローシップの最初の数ヶ月の間に、公共交通や鉄道史の分野で日本の専門家とのつながりを築いたことは重要な成果でした。これらは今後の資料調査やアドバイスを受ける際に不可欠なものです。
