この研究費は主に、オーストラリア国立大学出身で若手研究者である外国人特別研究員がキャリアを発展させることに直結する研究活動を展開するために使用された。その意味で、本研究費の本来の目的を実施できたと言える。この研究費によって、ポスドクの外国人研究者があげた成果はいかにまとめられる。まず第一に、博士論文を見直しながら、単著出版のための準備を行った。そして、アメリカの大学出版に単著の企画を提出することができた。現在、出版社が検討を行っているが、現段階ではポジティブな応答をもらっている。単著を出すことは研究者として重要なステップになるため、有意義なステップである。研究計画書でも一年目に単著の企画をアメリカの大学出版社に提出することを計画していた。実際に一年目にその計画通りに実施できた。第二に、英語の学術書に一章を投稿し出版した。また、日本語の書籍にも寄稿し一章を出版できた。第三に、国内、国外において研究発表やミーティングに参加し、英語圏だけでなく、日本での知見を得ることができた。若手研究者として、国際的なネットワークを構築することは重要なことである。外国人研究者は英語圏でのネットワークはすでに独自の研究を発展させる過程で形成したが、日本での学術的なネットワークはほどんどなかった。このポスドクの期間に日本でのネットワークを形成することも一つの目的であったが、この研究資金を活用し、当初目的とした内容を達成できた。
