初年度は、感染症の影響が引き続き注視される中、ケニア共和国で長期のフィールド調査を行うことが叶わなかった。そのため、過去に収集したFGM廃絶運動に関するデータを再度分析し、その成果を発表した。日本国際開発学会第33回全国大会では若手の政治学者、人類学者の2名と共に前夜祭にてパネルセッションを企画し、ジェンダー人類学的視点から口頭発表「ケニアの地域社会組織によるFGM廃絶運動と相互扶助的ローカル社会の相克」を行った。また、ガーナのFGM廃絶運動を人類学的に分析した最新の研究The Twilight of Cuttingの書評を『国際開発研究』に発表した。さらに、Nakamura他が編集したアフリカ、中東、東南アジア、オーストラリアの研究者らによる国際共著書Female Genital Mutilation/Cuttingでは英文研究ノート“Research Note on a Grassroots Movement to Eradicate Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting Among Kenyan Maasai”を発表した。2023年からはフランス国立科学研究センター・政治人類学研究室に客員博士研究員として3か月間滞在し、アフリカ研究者らと人新世の国際共同研究を行った。フランスではFGMの変化を廃絶運動だけでなく、ケニア独立以降のマサイの土地利用と生業変化の中で分析し直し“Living in the Nation: The Modification of Livelihood, Gender, and Female Rites of Passage in Maa Pastoral Society, Kenya.”として口頭で報告した。また、イギリスにも2週間渡航し植民地期ケニアのマサイに関する民族誌を閲覧・収集した。
