项目摘要

本研究は最終目標を、緑の量の増大、緑の質の向上およびそれらを保証するための社会経済的ならびに技術的諸条件の整備においている。今年は、最終年度として、3日間の合宿を行い、3年間の研究と関連する周辺の研究業績とを含めて討議、検討を行った。その主要なテーマを以下に要約する。第一は緑の多様性についてである。都市の中心部の緑と都市の縁辺部の緑は、緑の多様性という観点からは、分けて考えた方が良いのではないかということである。また、多様性は時代によっても波がある。街路樹を対象にして考えると、時期によりいろいろな樹種を用い、多様性を増そうという動きと、単一の樹種に揃えようという動きがあることも知られた。第二は、都市の樹林の維持条件、残存条件についてである。その一つは生態学的な意味での残存樹林の維持条件で、もう一つは、緑地保全的な観点からの条件で、自然性,永続性,歴史性,あるいは風土性を十分に考慮した都市樹林の維持を考えていかなければならない、というものである。第三は、緑の認識という問題についてである。従来は、不特定多数の人を対象にし、主体が不明確なままの議論が多かったが、今後は、主体を明確にした上で、緑の環境を論じようというものである。第四に、緑の効果的な演出、特に視覚的な緑はどのようにして作っていけば良いかという点である。視覚的に扱われる緑を、定量的に、あるいはモデルとして表現するという2つの方法によって、把握していくことが論じられた。第五に、都市緑化をいかに実現していくかということに関連して、ナショナルトラストが例に挙げられた。その中で、日本的なナショナルトラストの今後のあり方が論じられた。
