近年のコンピュータグラフィクスの発達ともあいまって、図式的表現に基づいた新しい統計手法が次々に考案されている。その中に、連結ベクトルグラフ,星座グラフ,順位グラフなど、平面上のベクトルをデータ構造の表現に用いるという共通基盤を持つものがある。ベクトルの長さと方向に対応させる変数、統計量などの違いが各グラフの特徴となる。ところで、図式的な統計手法に対する従来の見方は、単なる記述的なものという見方が大勢を占めている。一方、上記の一連のグラフは平面上のdirectional data の統計という観点から統一的な解釈ができ推測統計的なグラフになる。そこで、本研究ではグラフ多変量解析に関心を有する各地(九州大学,岡山大学,愛知教育大学等)の研究者と意見の交換をしつつ、これらのグラフに共通の数理的背景を明らかにし、その結果を図式的統計手法の研究に応用した。本研究の成果は、以下の通りである。(1)連結ベクトルに基礎を置く図式的方法の数理的背景に関する一般論。これについては現在投稿準備中である。(2)連結ベクトルの漸近分布の導出とその応用。日本統計学会(1986年7月)において発表。さらにISI(1987年9月)に発表予定。(3)図式的非線型数量化法の考案。Computational Statistics and DataAnalysis vol.5(1987)に発表予定(印刷中)。(4)directional dataの解析に関するプログラム開発・整備。ComputerScience Monographに投稿予定(5)順位グラフの改良と関連ソフトウェアの開発。Japanese-FrenchScientific Seminar(1987年3月)において発表。なお、この研究は図式的重回帰分析、クラスター分析などにも拡大して行く予定である。

In recent years, the development of new statistical methods has been studied.
