1)昨年度の研究は, 主として基礎的なものであり, 低酸素ないし無酸素の状態では, 肺表面活性物質がtubular myelinの形態で肺胞腔内に出現することが, 電子顕微鏡により確認された.2)62年度では, この現象を, 炭酸, メタン, フレオンなどのガスにより, 低酸素ないし無酸素状態の環境を作り, また一酸化炭素ガスを含む空気をラットに吸入させて, これらのすべての条件で確認した.3)さらに, ヒトの肺表面活性物質に対するマウスのモノクローナル抗体を用いて, 特に新生児の肺の検索に応用し, 絞殺死体の肺肺内にtubular myelinを確認して, 死体の表面に証拠を見いだすのが困難な鼻口の閉塞による窒息に対しても, その可能性を大きいとする判断の根拠を提供し得ることを確認した.4)現在は窒息と判断される人体例に対する, 電顕, 免疫の両法を用いた, 応用を行っている.
